Boxing is at the heart of everything we do and St Andrew’s Sporting Club has a proud history in the sport. Great Scottish boxers from over the past five decades have fought at the club and we continue to host championship bouts to this day.

Meet the Team

  • Iain Wilson

    Iain Wilson

    DIRECTOR

    Iain Wilson served as a long serving patron and a member of the club before taking over as owner of the St Andrew’s Sporting Club. When he succeeded Tommy Gilmour in 2014, he understood the value of maintaining the club’s history while still keeping up with the present. Iain’s ultimate goal is to produce five-star events, but his fighters’ proper training and care will always come first.

    OPERATIONS & EVENTS

    Gone are the days when the St Andrew’s Sporting Club is only for men. Olivia is a crucial team member who ensures the proper operation of all memberships and activities. In addition to bringing significant cultural changes to the club in our 50th year, she brings expertise in graphic design to ensure that the club can keep up with new trends in social media and online marketing in the digital age in which we now live and work.

    From avid boxing fan, to boxing writer, to social media expert, Allen is now the driving force behind our ever-growing digital channels. His passion for boxing combined with his flair for digital media ensures that the club remains relevant in the modern world. Whether it’s training sessions, sparring or fight nights, Allen can be found at the side of the ropes capturing content to allow fans to follow our boxers’ journeys and club news.

    RING ANNOUNCER

    For almost 20 years, our official ring announcer. Despite travelling the world and introducing some of the biggest names in boxing and MMA, since joining the team - he has never missed a night at St Andrew’s Sporting Club. While we are regarded as The Home of Scottish Boxing, Craig Stephen is The Voice of Scottish Boxing.

    CHAIRMAN

    The veteran journalist and broadcaster is best known for being a regular guest on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard since 1985, football writer and boxing expert. There is no better man to introduce our evening and guests of honour at the top table with his distinctive style, long standing passion for boxing and commitment to St Andrew’s Sporting Club.

  • Kash Farooq

    Kash Farooq

    HEAD OF TALENT

    After making his pro debut in 2015 under St Andrew’s Sporting Club, Kash went on to put on several memorable performances, winning the Scottish and British bantamweight titles in this very arena. He joined Matchroom Boxing under the direction of Iain Wilson, but was sadly forced to withdraw from his professional boxing career in 2022. Our journey together didn’t finish there; he went on to become the “Head of Talent” at St Andrew’s Sporting Club, where his first signing was Lekan Obiora.
